Our Curriculum Pathways
In order to respond to the needs of some of our children, we have designed multiple curriculum pathways for children attending Wath Central Primary School. These pathways vary dependant on the needs of the child and range from those who can access their learning at either EYFS or National Curriculum levels to those who do not yet have the skills in order to access formal learning.

Regardless of their ability to access formal learning children will all be provided with opportunities to learn alongside their peers in class, spend times with friends at unstructured times such as break and lunchtime and access school enrichment opportunities (including class trips, performances, after school activities).

There are essentially four learning pathways; our main, formal offer and then three additional pathways
to allow small steps of progress for learners with SEND.

Explore - Discover - Connect.

These pathways are not always linear and a child may take different routes at different stages
of their development, according to their needs and abilities.
A key aspect of our curriculum offer is equipping children with the necessary skills to support them in the
next step of their life. This includes ensuring developmentally appropriate health, community,
relationships, independent living and employment skills.

Our aim is for children to leave Wath Central at the end of Year 6 with:

-
Effective communication strategies
-
Confidence and self-efficacy
-
Resilience and ambition
-
Functional levels of literacy, numeracy and computing.
